SNEAK PEAK: FREEDMAN DENIM
On a recent trip to Enda King (our favorite men’s shop in Venice), we stumbled onto Freedman Denim. We’ve been obsessed ever since.
Randy Freedman, the label’s founder and designer, is quite a trip. Before venturing into fashion, Freedman worked as Ben Harper’s guitar technician for nearly a decade, living a bona fide rock-n-roll life. The friendships he formed with Harper and other musicians on the road would serve as the foundation for his successful transition into a clothing designer.
An avid collector of vintage shirts, Freedman’s entry into fashion was an extension of his quest to create uncompromising vintage-inspired shirts with the perfect fit and tailoring. He began by starting a premium men’s tailoring shop where he crafted one-of-a-kind custom shirts for his musician friends. They helped spread the word, and Freedman’s popularity quickly grew.
Now, after just a few short years, Freedman has expanded his label into a comprehensive men’s shirt and jacket collection, designed and constructed with the same level of detail and quality that made his shirts a success, all handmade in the US in limited production runs.
Freedman’s style is classic Americana, blending vintage and music influences to create designs that are rich in texture and soul.
We’ve seen the Fall/Winter collection from Freedman Denim, and we can’t wait to share it with you in the coming months when it gets ready to drop. In the meantime, here are a few signature Freedman Denim looks from seasons past to paint a picture of what the label is all about.
