AVIATOR NATION / SIGNATURE HOODIE
Paige Mycoskie is obsessed with vintage t-shirts.
For most people, such an obsession would mean hunting down a few dozen t-shirts in local thrift stores. But for Paige, it served as the inspiration for creating Aviator Nation.
Based in Venice, Aviator Nation is a line of casualwear that looks and feels like it’s authentically vintage. We’ve yet to come across a label that does vintage reproduction as well as this one.
To get it just right, Paige studied how t-shirts and sweats were actually made in the 60s and 70s, examining fabrics, screen printing techniques, and inks. She even tracked down and bought sewing machines from the era that she uses in her production process, so even the stitchwork is authentically reproduced.
Aside from all the label’s t-shirts, the garment we have our eye on at the moment is the Aviator Nation’s Signature Hoodie. It’s the perfect sweatshirt for summer nights at the beach. It’s so comfortable and broken-in that from the first moment you put it on, it feels like you’ve owned it for years. Besides heather gray (our favorite), the hoodie comes in a few other colors. Here’s a look at them.

To learn more about Aviator Nation, visit the label’s website. You can also follow Aviator Nation on Facebook and Twitter. If you’re in the neighborhood, you can drop by the label’s flagship store on Abbot Kinney in Venice to check out the goods in person.
