WARPAINT / UNDERTOW (THE FOOL, 2010)

Formed in 2004, Warpaint is an all-female rock quartet made up of Emily Kokal (vocals/guitar), Theresa Wayman (vocals/guitar), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass/vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums).

The band had a breakout year in 2009 when it released Exquisite Corpse, its first EP, to rave reviews.  The buzz on Warpaint has been steadily building ever since, with the release of the band’s first album, The Fool, and standout performances at SXSW, Lollapalooza, and Coachella.

We’re mesmerized by Warpaint’s sound.  It’s weighed down and solemn, like a chanting ghost that’s longing for something it can’t have.  Give it a listen, and we think you’ll be mesmerized too.
